Looking your best and feeling your
best can boost your self-esteem. Feeling good about yourself is important because
it affects how you communicate with people around you. Wearing makeup has become a daily ritual for
women of all ages.

“A spokesperson for the chain, Sara
Wolverson, said in the Daily Express: "For many women, putting their
make-up is an important part of their day, and the thought of people seeing
them without can be horrifying. We know that when it comes to cutting back, cosmetics
are seen as an essential."Women are relying on makeup to solve the problems regarding their self-esteem. However, there are some women that were makeup to cover-up blemishes.
According to the National
Counselling Society, “A highly effective way for women to improve their
perception of themselves and build much-needed self-esteem is to attend
counselling. By talking their issues
through with a trained counsellor, women can identify the underlying issues
contributing to their low self-confidence and find a more effective way to work
through them, other than piling on the foundation”.
The
media has made women think that they should always wear makeup. Now, it has come to the point that women are developing
are low-esteem because of makeup. A lot of
people can be judgmental when it comes to the appearance of what a woman is
wearing.
Life coach Jackie Fletcher gives her expert
opinion: "Make-up can help with a sense of self-respect."
"The reality is that we do judge people by how they look, and this can be especially important for women in business who often need to appear professional. But if the reason for wearing make-up lies in the woman feeling worried that people will judge her for the way she looks rather than who she is, that's a problem that needs to be addressed." Society has given women the notion that
wearing make will cure all their problems and mental issues that their holding
on it. From magazines to television realty shows; the media displays a wide variety
of makeup advertisements targeting women with low esteem. Many women are now leaded
to think that wearing makeup can change how they’re feeling on the outside.
